In-House Quarantine Fit: Best Of The Best Edition

At-home workouts.

Back in March, just the sound of those words made my ears bleed. We’ve all got our go-to exercise routines, but let’s face it: Finding the motivation to move your body became such a strenuous feat to achieve daily during this quarantine catastrophe. After sampling an extensive array of professional online trainers, I’ve put together a definite list of the only five quick and effective at-home gurus you NEED to succeed in getting back in shape.

Note: these workouts burn and you’re bound to drench in sweat, so grab your towel and small weights/bands (or use your own body weight) and get ready for a major endorphin boost.

Sami Clarke

Sami Clarke is a fitness personality from Los Angeles. I first discovered her through her collaboration with the popular fitness app Fitplan. Clarke posts free training routines on Instagram and YouTube. Her workout style includes medium/low weight training with high reps. My favorite of her videos is a basic 10-minute ab series on YouTube, but her more intense Instagram Lives can be up to an hour long!

Rachael’s Good Eats

Rachael DeVaux is a Seattle-based registered dietitian. She started her brand DeVaux’s Good Eats to provide her growing audience with tools to obtain a healthy, balanced lifestyle. On her Instagram, you’ll find a vast collection of resources from at-home lifting routines to yummy hacks for your next comfort food dish. DeVaux’s training style involves high-medium reps with medium and body weight.

Melissa Wood Health

Melissa Wood-Tepperberg is the creator of the MWH Method, a series of low-impact workouts for yoga/Pilates lovers ranging from five to 40+ minutes in length, divided into multiple different videos targeting each area of the body. MWH also offers meditation practices for $9.99/month. Her training focuses on small burning movements that you can conveniently complete anywhere, any time.

Hot Pilates

Hot Pilates is a Los Angeles studio founded by Shannon Nadj, the famed luxury trainer for celebrities like Hailey Bieber and SZA. Her concept gained immense popularity through releasing 30-minute Instagram Live workouts daily, and I instantly got hooked on her low-impact Pilates. Don’t be fooled by the lightweight resistance bands used: Nadj’s classes will have you breaking a sweat and feeling that all-over burn in just 30 to 50 minutes. Hot Pilates is now rolling out an online service with unlimited workouts, stretches, nutrition tips and more for $29.99/month.

Colombian Mafia Fit

Maria Leguizamon is passionate fitness entrepreneur and mom of three. I found her through her immense streams of full-body workouts, which she hosts live with her clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays via Instagram and also records and uploads to her public YouTube channel. Her vibrant Latina zeal is unmatched and keeps you motivated throughout the whole workout. Think of her inventive expertise as salsa sculpt mixed with light weightlifting. She holds live weekly Zoom classes and sells an 8-week workout plan on her website for $39.99.
