Guide to Miami Music Week

Miami Music Week is back, and whether you are there for the Instagram worthy pictures, fabulous custom outfits or to jam to David Guetta it’s important to know all the details surrounding the event.

People fly in from all over the world every March to enjoy this giant electronic music party featuring iconic DJ’s and artists playing at Miami’s famous venues. The headline event that everyone seems to be buzzing about is the Ultra Music Festival which is already sold out! The event in Bayfront Park plans to headline Kygo, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix Nickey Romero and more.

“I love Ultra, the beats, dressing up, hanging out with my friends are all so exciting,” said Junior, Jada Brown, who is majoring in Major Psychology & Creative Advertising.

One of the most popular venues participating in Miami Music Week is Miami’s award-winning club E11EVEN, which will host events throughout Miami Music Week starting Wednesday March 23rd. Notable artists such as Major Lazer, DJ Snake and Benny Benassi will all be in attendance. Tickets can be purchased on E11EVEN’s website.

The cost of Miami Music Week can seem like a lot, but I recommend checking Eventbrite for some events that are $20+ but not over $100. One event includes Higher Ground Presents Diplo + More @ Space Park Miami which will highlight several artists. They include Diplo , Blond:ish , Dj Holographic, LP, Giobbi, Durante and Monoky.

Remember that there are so many options, and Miami never sleeps during Miami Music Week. Don’t forget that you can explore so many places throughout the week like Wynwood, South Beach, Downtown and other parts of Miami.

University of Miami students seem to be excited about the event as well. Sophomore Jake  Newiger said he is excited to see the creative outfits. “I can’t wait to see how fashion reflects music and performances. Even the colorful staging and performing of the EDM musical guests such as David Guetta & Martin Garrix,” Newiger said.
