Miami’s 2014 Winter Music Conference showcased a number of events. From chill, melodic trance to hard-style drum and bass, WMC brought an event to satisfy fans of every genre.
On March 28, Future Sound of Breaks and Culture & Sound Records presented FSOB XII, “The Miami Massive,” at Mekka Nightclub in downtown Miami. Performers included The Crystal Method, Flux Pavillion, Figure, Emalkay, Crizzly, UZ, and Basshead.
One of the great things about WMC is that many unknown and local DJ’s have a chance to showcase their music alongside more famously known producers. Having just created their own record label, Stache Records, Grant & Duval (Daniel Grant Litman, 21, and Jimmy Duval, 20) were given the opportunity of a lifetime.
University of Miami students, Grant & Duval played at three different WMC events this year. On March 25, they played the “All Trap Show” at The Stage Miami, “Welcome 2 Miami,” at the Shore Club on March 26, and the “H50 Rooftop Pool Party,” at Club Fifty, on March 30.
You can definitely expect to see more from these two. Young, dedicated and filled with energy, Grant & Duval are determined to take over the EDM scene one show at a time.
