Bassheads and dubstep lovers welcomed Zeds Dead as they packed a sold out show at Grand Central Friday for their “Somewhere Else” tour.
Composed of Dylan Mamid (DC) and Zach Rapp-Rovan (Hooks), Zeds Dead is a Canadian dubstep duo from Toronto. The duo got their name from a line in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulp Fiction.
Kaitlyn Murray, a 23-year-old fan came out to enjoy the show.
“I went because I love Zeds Dead. The venue was amazing and so were all the people there,” said Murray.
Zeds Dead mixes a variety of genres with aspects of electro-house, glitch, drum and bass, and hip-hop into their dubstep based platform. The duo is best known for their tracks “Eyes on Fire,” by Blue Foundation (Zeds Dead remix), “You and I,” (Zeds Dead and Omar LynX), and “Collapse,” (Zeds Dead featuring Memorecks).
Kendra Olenick, a 21-year-old from Jupiter came to support her favorite DJ.
“I came to see the show because Zeds Dead is my favorite DJ and they never fail to put on a good show. It was amazing as always and I can’t wait to see them again,” said Olenick.
Promotions and Marketing Coordinator for Electric Love Productions, Alexis Salerno, also attended.
“The energy was great, the place was packed and Zeds Dead totally delivered! It was definitely one of the most fun shows I’ve attended this fall,” said Salerno, 23.
Opening for Zeds Dead were Sluggers, Big Makk and Cuervoshots.
