Nothing was the same Thursday evening when rapper Drake dropped his latest project by posting a link for it on his Twitter account. The project, “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late,” was released on the sixth anniversary of Drake’s first mixtape, “So Far Gone.” Sound a bit familiar? It’s the mixtape that put Drake on the map. Touché Drake, touché.

Though a surprise, the release was something expected—rumors have been flying about a new project (Views from the 6 anyone?) and he dubbed spring 2015 as “O.V.O. Season” when he rapped about it in “0 to 100/The Catch Up” in June: “We’ve already got spring 2015 poppin’.”
Needless to say, when we found out that Drake finally released 17 new songs—we got excited. So much so that we’ll call tonight’s lack of sleep and the unavoidable uptake of caffeine on Friday morning as simply a “Thursday Night Interlude.”
So, excuse us while we put on some headphones; we have some listening to do.
In the meantime, check out Drake’s short film, released on Thursday, called “Jungle.”
