Tub Thoughts: A Weird Conversation

“Look, I took two words written down and put them back together one day.

There, I formed a new word.”

“Great! Congrats!”

“Then, I went back home to combine both sentences.

Boom, a run-on.”

“Cool!”

“See? How wonderful, isn’t it?

To be able to sleep by the ocean?”

“Well, it’s good for thought.”

“Tub Thoughts.”

“Wait, do you think if we put woodwork on top of your heads

and proceed to pile them on top of the other,

that our hearts

would remain

afloat?”

“Combining both systems? Maybe …

How would you balance it?”

“I mean, where would the heart go?”

“I don’t know.”

“Look. You know, every day I would have one chance to hold my toy train.

It had blue lines and green designs written all over it.

Black stains littered it.”

“Ewe, gross.”

“Yeah, well, food for thought.”

“Tub thoughts.”

“Dawn, I have a feeling my hopeless dreams will be made real one day. I got the job done for tonight, too. So, maybe I won’t have to sleep for the next 200 years? Who knows?”

“Right, well, we all have hands to use for our own dignities.

I have hopeless dreams that maybe one day

we could be sitting here, together,

under these loft-less bubbles.”

Boom. Food for thought.”

“Tub thoughts.”

The End
