Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the God of Thunder is back again with a brand new movie “Thor: Ragnarok”. As Thor goes around the universe fighting creatures, he ends up in this society where he has to fight against Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and at the same time, Hela (Cate Blanchett), the Goddess of Death, arrives in Asgard to start Ragnarok. Ragnarok is the destruction of Asgard and its Asgardian society, and Thor must save it even though he is stuck without his hammer in this alternate planet.
As a marvel nerd, I can say this can definitely be one of the best MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) movies. When I first saw the trailer, I questioned the color palettes and the aesthetic because it was very similar to Guardians of Galaxy but it was not the case at all! The soundtrack and the visuals give you the full experience of a gladiator, and a god. Marvel Studios keeps surprising me with amazing movies, and I always try to critique it, but in all honesty, they always get the formula right to get the audience hyped.
One of the characters that I truly loved in this movie is Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). She is brand new on the MCU, and she is the definition of the most badass female character (after Black Widow). In film, usually the males are the dominant characters and there is no balance between female and males, but Marvel does such an incredible job portraying true female roles, and not diminishing their true power.
As the MCU gets closer to the end of Phase 3, the audience gets to see the growth of these characters physically, and emotionally, and the screenplay did such an amazing job with connecting motifs, and elements from the other movies. Even if this may be your first MCU film, check it out because it is definitely a fun time!
