Just when you thought Chiara Ferragni’s style was only fit to roam the upscale streets of Milan, the international celebrity fashion blogger proves she can rock beach chic too. Ferragni, of The Blonde Salad fashion blog, hosted a cocktail party in celebration of Art Basel honoring LA based artist and designer, Lauren Moshi. It was held at the eclectic Mondrian Hotel in South Beach this past Saturday, December 7th. Ferragni mingled with guests and posed for pictures with fans– whilst stealing kisses from her boyfriend, photographer Andrew Arthur.
The bar at the Mondrian South Beach was transformed into a beach bum’s paradise. Lauren Moshi’s signature hippie towels covered the furniture and her colorful art prints were displayed throughout the room – from oversized pouting red lips to a detailed hamsa and evil eye print that made it in quite a few of Ferragni’s Instagrams that night. In the corners of the room, Moshi’s printed surfboards tempted guests to take them out for a late night surf. But not really. I think we can all agree both the boards and towels are far too fabulous to touch sand, let alone salt water.
Although the DJ played songs – from Group Love to Lana Del Ray to Calvin Harris – at what seemed top volume, it didn’t stop guests from talking (or yelling) and encouraged some definite head and feet bobbing throughout the crowd. Even Chiara’s charming Italian accent could be heard above the music. She was more than willing to share her enthusiasm about our beloved Miami. Chiara said “my favorite part of Miami is well…the sun! This is only my second time here and I have so much to see. It is freezing in Milan right now so I love the heat!”
