While many adorn themselves in our bright orange and green, rock a Cane jersey on game day, and some even go as far as to permanently paint their allegiance on their skin, there is another type of spirit showcased around campus – state spirit.
Whether it is wearing a shirt emblazoned with New York, which can be easily purchased at any Forever 21 (can you say imposters) or incorporating your state pride in a more tasteful manner like Laurasia’s dainty gold state-shaped necklace, you too can be a state golden girl or guy. But, no other state does gold like CA. Yes, we’re looking at you – New Jersey.
Your environment influences your style. Fashion varies around the world, nation, and even regionally. Another way to rock a signature piece is to showcase a one-of-a-kind piece that can be purchased only at a boutique in your hometown. Don’t be surprised if your unique fashion flair impresses…or causes someone to strike up a conversation.
Who needs to be a chain store worshipper following en masse when you can find unique boutique pieces to have a style that stands out. While you may call Miami your temporary home, you can showcase state pride with a piece of your home-state 24/7.
So whether you are a political science major, or not, be a stage delegate – style wise.
