Students Cycling Towards the Cure

The University of Miami’s Greek life, clubs and student groups participated in their own version of the Dolphin Cycling Challenge on November 3rd. The Dolphin Cycling Challenge was two days of long-distance biking in ending in Miami-Dade at Sun Life Stadium, with stops in Broward at Huizenga Plaza and in Palm Beach at CityPlace. For those who could not endure the long bike ride, UM’s Spin-A-Thon was indoors at the Wellness Center on campus. The event was 6 hours of non-stop cycling, and the team that raised the most amount of donations won an award and special recognition. Each of the 35 teams raised at least $2000 in donations for UM’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The fundraising efforts have already reached $1 million, and donations are being accepted for UM’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center through Nov. 18.
