Spectrum is back and better than ever. Calling all art lovers, and Art Basel enthusiasts.
If you haven’t a chance to check out Spectrum this year, don’t worry because you have until Sunday to see a collection of art from roughly 650 different artists, that will leave you amazed. Throughout the whole exhibit all I could keep saying was “Wow.” Impressive doesn’t even cut it. The art showcased at Spectrum this year is incredible.
Spectrum and its partners Red Dot Miami and ArtSpot Miami bring to you some of the greatest talent from around the world, including up and coming artists who are making their debut. Celebrating its 7th year, Spectrum presents its expected 30,000 visitors with a mix of gallery art and debut art that cross mediums and tie into this year’s theme of Fushion. Spectrum also includes a series of Art labs, Art Talks, a Spotlight Artist Program tailored to collectors and a Launchpad Artist Program that showcases one specific emerging artist.
Connected to Spectrum are its partner shows, Red Dot Miami and ArtSpot Miami. For the past two years Red Dot has been part of Spectrum as contemporary art show dedicated to gallery only art. This year’s theme is Impact, and all art showcased in the Red Dot exhibit are pieces that reflect and influence society. While on the other hand ArtSpot, a specially curated show by Aldo Castillo features contemporary and modern art from international and Latin American artists.
Whether you are a fan of Spectrum, Red Dot or ArtSpot, I highly recommend you head over there this weekend. All three shows are located at 1700 NE 2nd street and are open through Sunday. Don’t miss out the opportunity to see art from around the world, and bring your Cane Card. With a Student ID admission is only $15 at the door. If your looking to Basel on a budget Spectrum is the place to be.
