When I first heard Icon by Jaden Smith, I was in love with his whole vibe. But when I heard the remix I was snatched. First of all, Will Smith raps in Spanish for part of it and, let’s be honest, when is the last time you heard Will spit? This is a summer banger that I play at least once a day.
Love is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way – Beck Remix by U2 and Beck
Like a little alternative music in your life? This Beck and U2 collab is a perfect blend of what Coldplay has been doing for the past 7 years. I’ve listened to it at least 50 times and every time I hear it I notice something different. The original is decent but the remix slaps.
Remember this song from middle school? This oldie is still one of my favorites songs for the summer. Even though Neon Trees practically fell off the map, this song will remind you of your angsty pre-teen days as you cruise with your friends through your hometown.
For our soulful readers, James Bay just dropped a new album “Electric Light.” Song after song I just kept adding them all to my playlist. If you’re looking to hear an upbeat song that will put you in your feelings, then this is a definite listen.
