Miami gets Naked!

Miami Naked Painting Party

For those of you that refused to take a break from studying for finals this weekend, a truly exciting and unique, once in a life time kind of event was missed.

The Miami Naked Painting Party took place on Saturday May 3, at the LMNT Gallery in Wynwood. The party was coordinated by Social Exposure, sponsored by LIQS Shots, The 24 Group, and Voli Vodka and had music by DJ Ivano Bellini.

Guests received a paintbrush upon arrival. Then, they checked in their clothing at the coat check and proceeded in to the party. The party was held in a small, enclosed space that created a serene and intimate environment.

Paint was distributed in little plastic cups to ensure that everybody had a chance to paint. It wasn’t one of those rave parties where bottles of paint were openly flying around and everyone is uncomfortably drenched in paint. Instead, guests walked into a black-lit room where they became artists and naked bodies became works of art.

Things started off slow at first, with people not knowing what to do and walking in completely clothed. But, by the end of the night, as more and more people ran out of places to paint, almost everyone was full-on nude, rocking out in their birthday suits.

Sally Golan, the founder of Social Exposure said, ” I am so happy to see that we had a successful, intimate yet super cool show for our Miami edition of our traveling event. The Naked Painting Party is off to London next- May 25! Miami responded well, showed some skin, some bared it all and some kept their bikinis on but I love that everyone painted like mad. It was a sexy mess as it always should be!”

I have to say, I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. About 150 people came out to show some skin and paint on each others bodies. The event was sexy, intimate and one of the coolest things I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. As uncomfortable and awkward as it may have been for some people at first, by the end of the night, everyone had painted and been painted on  and those who arrived as strangers left as friends.

Let’s hope that Sally and the Social Exposure team bring back the Naked Painting Party next year! As of now, no date has been set, but if it does come back around, you won’t want to miss something like this twice!
