We’ve all heard of Rate My Professors, a nifty site where you can read reviews on individual professors for insights on their helpfulness, clarity and overall teaching style. A place where you can pretty much write whatever you want without worrying about the consequences, Rate My Professors tends to be an internet destination where students express their unfiltered opinions about everything, including how “hot” they think their professors are. The chili pepper is one of the first things viewers can see on a professor’s profile. A symbol of their overall attractiveness, students give their professors chili peppers if they think they’re hot. Awkward? A little bit. Flattering? Absolutely. We sat down with UM’s chili pepper professors to see how they feel about being branded as campus hotties. Check back every week for our “Chili Pepper Professor of the Week,” and subscribe to our Youtube channel if you want to be the first to know who’s next.
Our first Chili Pepper Professor is Meryl Blau, from the Advertising Department in the School of Communication. Popular amongst Communication students, you’ll find Blau teaching fun, creative courses like Art Direction, planning huge events like PhilADthropy, or leading the school’s National Student Advertising Competition team.
