Keep it Classy, Miami

4D_M3A6429

Senior in public relations & economics, Chuxuan Jing, keeps it classy in black Prada booties and a Dolce & Gabbana shirt and shorts paired with a Chanel bag and sunglasses.

We get it; it’s hot. Having the sweat drip down your back, your sticky skin adhere to your chair, and being forced to put your hair in a high bun so your neck can grasp a sip of the short-lived breeze isn’t much fun. Because, as much as we love to brag about how we never have to suffer through the frigid winter weather, sometimes we become tired of the flaming Miami heat. However, this does not give us the excuse to wear the traditional skin-tight, short and revealing clothing well known among the Miami population. The word is “dressed.” As in, clothing is needed to look fashionable. The traditional Miami wear isn’t flattering on everybody – a very small percentage of the population is flattered in attire that is skin-tight, short and revealing everything.

Our model illustrates flattering attire that shows you don’t need to cause a class A scandal to look sexy. A more conservative look is actually more chic and trendy. While an influx of booty shorts can seem to be the norm, you can stand out by the details. Tucking her shirt into her shorts highlights Chuxuan’s waistline. The neckline detail adds a peek of skin and femininity and Chuxuan’s dainty necklace draws further attention as the sun radiates on her arms and shoulders. She draws attention to her toned legs by pairing these longer shorts with fierce black booties creating a slenderizing look – unlike booty shorts which actually create a widening effect. Miami fashion is also never complete without some cool shades, and these leopard print ones are wild without being an overwhelming addition. This beauty surely didn’t forget about beauty with a bright red lip to complete this sophisticated look.

Classy and sophisticated is where it’s at. So, ladies, keep it classy.
