On Wednesday, November 13, as Instagram blew up with fashion bloggers and Victoria’s Secret angels teasing us with backstage footage from the annual December fashion show (airing on television December 10), University of Miami girls experienced a little piece of the action on campus. The Bra and Panty Party, hosted by the Victoria’s Secret Pink campus representatives, took place at 7pm in the University Center, and was the perfect cure for any Victoria’s Secret catwalk “FOMO” (fear of missing out).
What made for the ideal girls’ night in included all things pink: iced pink cupcakes, strawberries, whipped cream cookie sandwiches, raspberry lemonade in classy pink champagne glasses and… pizza and popcorn – because they are essential. Both begin with the letter “P” so basically they are pink, right? No arguments, boys.
Whilst some girls filled their pink plates with tasty treats, others proceeded to the photo booth to Instagram their own Victoria’s Secret party pictures. Models Candice and Miranda weren’t the only one’s on the popular page… who knows, perhaps a University of Miami student will become an Instagram star? It wouldn’t come as a surprise with a booth overflowing with the necessary props for a fabulous photo. From sparkly photo frames and the signature VS Pink dog to fluffy scarves and balloons, there was no shortage of posing options. Some girls were even spotted walking away with the princess crowns from the booth. “Oh, whoops, is this still secured to my head?” No one is blaming you ladies – only wishing we had thought of it first.
Princess crowns were far from the party’s only giveaway. Girls squealed in anticipation of the bra and panty raffle. It was all fun and games, eating pretty food and watching Bridesmaids. Conveniently, right before the famous scene at the dress store, every girl’s head turned to hear who had won the raffle. While some girls remained sitting eagerly waiting to hear if their names were called, others pounced to the raffle table like lionesses waiting to feast on their prey.
The Bra and Panty Party was definitely a success –especially for those who walked away with both a crown and underwear.
