Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred are back in color!
Broadway in Miami presents “I Love Lucy Live on Stage” at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Downtown Miami.
Opening night for the show was Sept. 30 with performances happening all week long until the final curtain closes Sunday, Oct. 5 after the 7 p.m. show.
The play will feature a remake of two episodes from the original show and, according to the press release, audience members will feel like real 1952 studio audience members at the Desilu Studios watching an episode of “I Love Lucy” being taped.
For those who do not remember, Lucille Ball, who played Lucy in the original show, and Desi Arnaz, who played Ricky, were actually married for the entire time the show aired. Desilu Studios was the production company they owned as a couple until they divorced and Ball bought Arnaz’s stake in the company.
Actors Thea Brooks and Euriamis Losada have the lead rolls in the show starting as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, respectively. The dysfunctional couple and best friends/landlords of the Ricardos, Fred and Ethel Mertz, are played by Kevin Remington and Lori Hammel.
Tickets for the show are on sale now with prices starting at $26. They can be purchased by calling the Box Office at (305) 949-6722 or by visiting the website www.arshtcenter.org
