Nevertheless, the Miami Hurricanes football team will wear new uniforms for their October 8 game against the Florida State Seminoles, and continue to wear them for the rest of the season.
The uniforms, which were revealed one week ago, are essentially throwbacks of the uniform set worn from 1981 through 1999.
While Russell Athletic and Nike supplied the past jersey’s, the new duds are manufactured by Adidas. Let’s compare the old unis and the new unis.

The biggest difference between the new sets is the sublimated pattern in the body mesh of the new uniforms, carried over from the current set. Well, that and the new uniforms look like a body-glove (and have for years now). I suppose Adidas thought the presence of their logo on the uniforms wasn’t enough of a mark, so the superfluous pattern was kept.
Also new this year is the utilization of “pride” stickers on the helmets, as see on runningback Mark Walton. The little hurricane symbols are a nice little touch.
The set is the third main set to be worn by the ‘Canes in as many years.
Forget the actual players, these uniforms could be the difference when the No. 14 ‘Canes face the No. 12 Seminoles a little under two weeks. As long as that sublimated pattern doesn’t get in the way.
As a uni-geek, I give these threads my seal of approval.
