It’s officially that time of year again! Homecoming Season. Get ready for these spirited events for the next week:
Homecoming 2018 Opening Ceremonies, Alma Mater and Watch Party
Welcome Homecoming season with the Opening Ceremonies and Alma Mater Friday at 6 p.m. Come see UM organizations and teams sing and dance to your favorite fight songs tonight on the Lakeside Patio. Immediately following opening ceremonies, The Rat will be cheering on the ‘Canes at Boston College join CAT5, RAB and Homecoming Executive Committee for this spirited event.

Driven to Serve: Hurricanes Help the Hometown 2018
Join organizations from across campus for one of the largest service days of the year. If you haven’t registered don’t worry, you still have the opportunity of registering on site!
When: Saturday Oct 27 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: UC Rock Plaza and Breezeway
Wish You Were Here: Homecoming 2018 Spirit Tree
Join UM clubs and organizations as they decorate the Spirit Tree with personal ornaments. This UM tradition will bring out the competition as orgs compete for Homecoming points.
When: Monday Oct 29 from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Where: Spirit Tree behind Ashe Building
An Adventure Royale: Homecoming 2018 King and Queen Pageant
One of my favorite events during Homecoming and the most competitive, ‘Canes will compete for the title of Homecoming Prince, Princess, King, and Queen!
When: Monday Oct 29 from 7 – 10 p.m.
Where: SC Grand Ballroom
X Marks the Spot: Homecoming 2018 Organized Cheer
Teams will compete through acting and dancing to show their school spirit. While incorporating a mystery animal into their performance, teams will show how much love they have for the ‘Canes.
When: Tuesday Oct 30 from 7 – 10 p.m.
Where: UM Lakeside Patio and Stage
Adventure is Calling: Homecoming 2018 Spirit Day
Join University of Miami Homecoming as they put on their event, Spirit Day. Students can make their own DIY Halloween props, giveaways and of course one of my favorite kinds of free food, s’mores. Make your way out to celebrate UM Spirit Day.
When: Wednesday Oct 31 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: UM Lakeside Patio and Stage
Homecoming Concert 2018 featuring ZEDD
HP Concerts presents ZEDD for the 2018 Homecoming Concert. For the best seats come early.
You don’t want to miss the pit for the best performance from this electric artist.
When: Thursday Nov 1 from 7 – 11:30 p.m.
Where: Watsco Center
Paradise Found: Hurricane Howl
Join Homecoming for the Bock Party featuring food trucks and carnival rides, the Boat Burning Ceremony and Firework Show. Come out to show your Cane Spirit and stay for the Boat Burning on Lake Osceola followed by the best fireworks around.
When/Where: Friday Nov 2
Food Trucks from 6 – 10 p.m. (Miller Circle) Block Party from 6 – 8 p.m. (Foote Green)

A Walk Through Time: Homecoming 2018 Parade
Join the Homecoming Grand Marshal and 40 clubs on campus showcase their love for the “U” as they decorate a spirited homecoming banner for the best parade at UM.
When: Friday Nov 2 at 7 p.m.
Where: Stanford Dr (Next to Admissions/UC)
