Guide to Underage Miami

For a city that is known for its wild nightlife, South Florida still has plenty to offer for those who can’t give their under 21 age ID to a bouncer. Whether it’s dancing, singing your heart out or being a little competitive, grab your friends and go enjoy all the things Miami has to offer.

Bird Bowl

Right on Bird Road and a staple in Miami for 61 years, Bird Bowl might have a bar but there’s more to it than beer and bowling. Go on a Friday night after 10 p.m. to see the sixty lane bowling alley transformed into disco lights and music as loud as a club. Promise you and your friends will be laughing at who keeps on making the ball into the gutter and finding dancing partners all over the place.

Open Door Stage Club

Although the name might say otherwise, Open Door Stage Club has a club-like feel in the heart of Coral Gables for all ages. Every night they have a different theme but the weekends are usually filled with Spanish music, karaoke and live bands. Check online to see what they have for the upcoming weekend but it’s always a good time and close to campus.

While Open Door Stage Club might offer drinks for those of age, it also is an open place for karaoke, food and dance. Try anything on their menu to have enough energy to dance the night away. Source: Open Door Stage Club.

Cowboys Saloon/Round Up

It might be a drive outside of the Miami area but if you’re looking for somewhere to line dance to country music, either Cowboy’s Saloon or Roundup Country Bar is the answer. Both places have a cover for 18+ and free for 21+ before 11 p.m. They’re also both within a few minutes from each other so if you can’t decide where to go, you can go back and forth as you please. Bonus: Cowboy’s Saloon offers free line-dancing lessons at 8 p.m. and, if the 18+ are balling on a budget, go early for the lessons and stay in so you don’t have to pay cover.

Titanic Brewery & Restaurant

Located right next to the University of Miami campus, Titanic Brewery & Restaurant is a great place to show your friends your karaoke skills. With a small stage in a small restaurant, it’s not hard to have a good time listening to others sing their hearts out. You’re also very likely to find UM students there due to the proximity to school.

Lincoln Road Mall

For primetime people watching and a headache from picking where to hang out, Lincoln Road offers plenty for everyone. Whether you want to go watch a movie, find a place to have dinner or walk around, the nightlife here is different from what typical nightlife is in Miami. Go with friends and take pictures of the street performers or walk for a few minutes and meet the ocean for a night that came from a movie.

Oasis Lounge and Hookah Bar

Right in the heart of Coconut Grove busting with loud music you can find Oasis Lounge and Hookah Bar. The place only allows an 18+ crowd for a small space to either dance, play pool or darts and smoke hookah. The outdoor patio gives space for plenty of people to join or make friends with the people next to them. If you’re hungry, their burgers on the menu are really good or walk next door to New York Pizza for a huge slice of cheap pizza.
