Gaga's Comeback

With her first solo album since 2013, Lady Gaga has returned with an album that is both new and unique in ways we all know Gaga can be. She has managed to reintroduce herself in so many ways that each reiteration is received with a warm welcome. Joanne is just another example of how Gaga can easily change her sound and still manage to stay on top. It’s an album that ranges from familiar pop songs that we’d expect from her, to songs that deviate so much from her norm that, when put together, create something that is simply her best work yet.

For die-hard fans, the track Dancin’ in Circles is the one for you. It’s a familiar song filled with Gaga’s flare, a sound we all know and love. However, for those who want to hear something truly different, then listen to Sinner’s Prayer and her collaboration with Florence Welch, Hey Girl. The latter provides a country feel that really veers off what you’d expect, while the former has an 80’s feel that just works so well with Florence’s voice.

“It’s an endless proving of myself, that I really am a musician, that I have something to offer in the room,” Gaga said in an interview with the New York Times. That is exactly what Joanne proves to be – Gaga is a true musician with a unique style made known not only in her new album, but in her entire career thus far.

Whether it is through her acting performances or through her music, Gaga is not just a musician. She is an artist in every way. With Joanne, she makes it clear that even with a stripped-down version of her voice, she can still push the limits what she can do. All in all, Joanne feels like a breath of fresh air and I can’t wait to hear it live at Super Bowl 2017.
