My fellow Americans: today is Election Day. This exciting day is steeped in history and tradition. Voting for president is one of the most important things we can do as citizens. But the only thing we #PartyAnimals at Distraction love more than the ‘Murrican election is celebratin’ the ‘Murrican election. Tons of restaurants will be offering election related promotions here in South Florida to entice people to vote, so no excuses!
Ra Sushi: Located in South Miami by Sunset Place, the Japanese restaurant will be offering free California rolls with any $10 purchase just for showing your “I Voted” sticker.
BGR The Burger Joint: Located on Miracle Mile, BGR has both an Obama and a Romney burger. The Obama burger is an homage to Chicago and features a signature patty topped with a Vienna hot dog, neon green relish and sport peppers. The Romney burger, a shout out to the Governor’s home state of Massachusetts, has lobster and hollandaise sauce on top.
Shake Shack: When you show your “I Voted” sticker at the newly opened Shack Shack by Sunset Place, the restaurant will provide you with a free small frozen custard. Haven’t voted yet but swear you will? They’ll give you the custard anyway – if you sign a pledge card. The restaurant calls it “Shack the Vote”; I call it bliss.
Ben & Jerry’s: The ice cream shop will be offering the Americone Dream sundae, with Americone Dream ice cream (Stephen Colbert’s very own flavor), whipped cream, caramel and an assortment of dry toppings. Check out the location in the Gables by Miracle Mile to enjoy this treat.
7-Eleven: The convenience store offers cups for each candidate – red for Romney and blue for Obama. Take this opportunity to save this merchandise as a historical memento!
Please make sure you get out and vote today guys!
