It’s safe to say that on Thursday, November 14th, professors can expect a shortage of students in class as the Isabel Marant for H&M collection will be debuting at the store’s location on Lincoln Road.
Since the initial leak of the collection in September, students at the University of Miami have been patiently waiting its arrival. Freshman Madison Roerig says “I’ve scrolled through the collection countless times making a mental wish list – I’m going straight for the black, leather pants.” For those of you who are unfamiliar, the buttery, cropped leather pants she is referring to come in three colors: red, white and black. Their design varies slightly depending on the color. The maroon pair feature edgy silver zippers and intricate knee patches while the white and black have shoelace style leather woven down the sides.
Marant has worked to create a collection for a range of styles while remaining true to her signature tribal-like and colorful design technique. For bolder fans, the cropped silver sequin pants and beautifully beaded crop jacket are must haves for the upcoming cooler nights on South Beach. Her basic tees and printed cotton pieces are simple and can effortlessly be taken from day to night with the swap of the suede fringed boots to the studded, mixed-metal heels. For those rugged, beach boys out there, the cosy, knit sweaters and baggy white and black jeans with patterned sides should be made your targets. As a matter of fact, couples can choose to mix and match their outfits as Marant has coordinated the women’s and men’s collections accordingly – perhaps don’t take this suggestion though.
Says Marant of the collection, “I was really proud that H&M approached me for this collection. I really tried to do the essence of my style. It is the ideal wardrobe that you can do a lot with.” It seems she has definitely attained her goal and there is no doubt that this collection will be a sell out. Students, take advantage of this “college budget” friendly opportunity and make it out to Lincoln Road on November 14th – this collection won’t wait for you.
