Partying for a good cause? Is that even possible? Thanks to The Electric Love Foundation, it is.
This Friday, February 17, the Electric Love Foundation brings you “Valentine’s River Rave” at Finnegan’s on the River. It is the first in a series of concerts that will benefit cancer research at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The event, hosted by MC Sean Rebz, features sets by local DJs Crowd Controlol, Alex Owens, and DBT. Swimsuits are encouraged (neon ones, obviously) because the pool and hot tub will be available all night. There will also be body painters, dancers, special guests, give-aways and prizes available as the night goes on. 100% of the proceeds go towards supporting cancer research.
If body painting and raging weren’t enough to entice you, the organization with the most guests in attendance will earn $500 to be donated to their charity of choice.
The Electric Love Foundation is a nonprofit organization that facilitates the management and production of electronic music concerts for charity. The organization was started by University of Miami students and aims to transform the way young America gives back to the community.
“We won’t be ignored. Our generation has a voice, and our numbers give us power. We will put our voices, our money, our votes, and our commitment into actions that make a difference and have lasting impact,” says Electric Love Productions CEO and University of Miami senior Jason Shaw.
Pre-purchased tickets are $20 and include transportation from campus as well as a complimentary beverage. There is a special Happy Hour for UM students from 9 to 10, so procrastination is not encouraged. The event is 21 to drink and 18 to party.
