Duke Game Recap

Miami started off ACC play with a Quality win over Duke.

On Friday, September 29th, the now 13th ranked Canes looked great in primetime against the Duke Blue Devils in North Carolina.

Total Yards Gained // 409

Passing & Receiving // Starting QB Malik Rosier provided another excellent performance with 270 passing yards with two touchdowns and a touchdown on the ground. Receiving wise, UM welcomed back Ahmmon Richards with 106 receiving yards and a TD. Braxton Berrios also hauled in a TD continuing his streak of the season of having a score each game.

Rushing // Running Back Mark Walton had a good game against the nations 2nd ranked rush defense with 51  yards on 17. Walton re-tweaked his ankle in the 4th quarter but should be able to go against the Seminoles on Saturday. Travis Homer also had an excellent performance with 43 yards and a score again in the 4th quarter.

Defense // Miami showed how special the defense could be by limiting a Duke team that averaged 40 points to only two field goals. The Canes overcame a bit of a past issue giving up third down conversions to put the clamps on the Duke offense.

Turnover Chain SZN // Michael Pinckney came up big with an interception, and Pat Bethel came up big with a fumble recovery, earning them the turnover chain this week.

This week provides a tough challenge against a struggling Seminoles team that would like nothing more than to spoil our season.

This game could be the springboard needed to make the U go on a crash course for the ACC title. This week, as you all know, is Florida State week and Canes fam everywhere would want nothing less than a big victory against FSU starting at 3:30 on Saturday.
