Fans of Ben Rector, John Mayer and Hozier alike should be reaching for their wallets and laptops before this upcoming Wednesday, when breakout artist James Bay is scheduled to perform at the Fillmore Theater in Miami Beach.

English singer-songwriter and guitarist has won several awards for his music, which will be performed on Wednesday at The Fillmore in Miami Beach. The 26 year old is known for his sultry voice and indie rock sound.

With the serene and unaffected voice of Rector and Mayer in combination with the dramatic big-band feel of Hozier, this artist is sure to deliver an unforgettable performance. James Bay’s concerts are known for the energetic atmosphere and involved crowds. Compete with crowd sing/clap/whistle alongs, spur of the moment guitar solos and groovy dancing, the concert is sure to be a lively one.

Within the past two years the music community has been blessed by the breakthrough of English singer-songwriter James Bay. The artist began his course in 2013 after signing to Republic Records Company and quickly releasing his first EP, The Dark of the Morning. Less than a year later, Bay released his second EP, named for his soon-to-be-hit Let It Go. It was his full length, debut album, however, which drew the attention of listeners around the world and ignited his career. One month after its release Chaos and the Calm peaked at the number one position for albums in the UK.

There was no questioning where fans’ fascination came from after listening to James Bay’s silky voice. He effortlessly sails over falsettos in between his typical soft and alluring tone. His songs take on an indie/folk rock kind of sound, which had been missing from the music industry in recent years, save a few of the most popular singer-songwriter artists. The album as a whole feels extremely raw and untouched. It serves as a breath of fresh air for those with an affinity for the singer in a world increasingly taken in by EDM and pop music.

James Bay already has 2 BRIT awards under his belt, one for Critic’s Choice and the other for British Male Solo Artist. His resume also boasts a tour with popular folk rock artist Hozier and show openings for Taylor Swift, both of which undoubtedly added to his fan base.

Since the release of Chaos and the Calm, Bay has been touring all over the world. Concert goers can always expect him to play his two most popular songs “Hold Back the River” and “Let It Go.” “Hold Back the River” exemplifies his capability to make an upbeat track with building intensity throughout. If this song strikes a chord with you, then be sure to check out his songs “When We Were on Fire” and “Sparks” which have a similar style. “Let It Go” is a slower tune in which the crooner really shows off his voice, letting the soothing guitar part and soft drums fade into the background. His songs “Scars” and “Running” are two gems from the album, both equally deserving of the praise that “Let It Go” has received.

Chaos and the Calm takes listeners on a dynamic musical journey and always leaves them begging for more. Tickets are still available to see James Bay perform at the Miami Beach Fillmore Theater this Wednesday the 21st. Believe me, this isn’t one you want to miss.
