A Freshman's First Impressions

Going to college is an exciting time for any new freshman, but at the University of Miami it’s a little bit more exciting than your average school. Here are some of the thoughts that went through my head as I experienced all the fun and exciting moments that make “The U”!

“Parties every single night? I’m in!”

Here at the U, there is always something going on!

“So many new people…What’s your name again?”

Gaining so many new Facebook friends!

“Wait, I have to walk all the way to Dooly Memorial for my 8am tomorrow?”

On the bright side, having morning classes means you can take an afternoon nap while all your friends are in class!

“I miss my dog.”

There is a definite lack of animal interaction on college campuses (except for the cute baby ducks).

“I think I am running out of Cane Cash already…”

Starbucks, and Lime, and Food Court, oh my!

*me at 3 in the morning* “Ooh EasyMac sounds amazing right now!”

Freshman 15 is a real thing.

“HURRICANE SZN”

AKA every freshman girl’s Instagram caption from the first home football game.

“It’s LIT ahhhh”

All your friends’ drunk Snap stories at the first tailgate.

“It’s only been two weeks??”

Yes my friends, 2 weeks out of 4 years already in the books. Congratulations!

Most of us are probably thinking “let’s do it all again!” and luckily, we can! The next four years of our lives will be filled with laughter, excitement, and memories that will unite us all as the Class of 2020. Go Canes!
