Four score and seven years ago (ok, maybe just one average day in June) we, the patriotic staff of Distraction Magazine, set out to create our most star-spangled issue yet: The Political Issue. What with all this talk about donkeys, elephants and Rombama, how could we not? We’ve whipped together some things we think you should know for the upcoming election, like the top 20 issues in the spotlight, some Miami eateries that sizzle in red, white and blue and 7 candidates we think should have run for president (Lil Wayne, anyone?).

So whether you’re a die-hard political aficionado or you’re still trying to decipher the difference between the house or the senate (dear lord, we hope not), this is your formal invitation to #JoinTheParty  and raise your solo cups to all that is America: freedom, opportunity and a whole lot of fried chicken.
