It’s the start of a new year and the beginning of another beautiful spring semester. Broadcast journalism major Orianna Girigliano reminds us why dressing up for the first day of school is a fashion do. Her pleated coral keyhole tank has a gorgeous silhouette and brightens her look with that signature Miami flavor while a classic Louis Vuitton bag keeps it simple. Then come the delicate daisy earrings from a boutique in Venezuela, which is Orianna’s native country. We’re a sucker for floral earrings. But our favorite part of Orianna’s outfit? Those peep-toe beauties, her Chloé slingback wedges. Wearing any elevated shoe on campus deserves recognition, but these wedges get extra brownie points with their stack of coral, white and cognac stripes. When asked about her style, Orianna emphasized that designer brands are not important. “Brand doesn’t determine whether you can dress welll–if I like it I wear it!” With a new year of fashion ahead of us, we look forward to more UM students stepping out on campus with confidence. People–here’s to making 2012 look good. Cheers.
